Explanation
To Kill a Mockingbird is the prequel to the novel, Go Set a Watchman. It explains the childhood of Jean Louise Finch, and how she was brought up to be a young woman. Even though Lee wrote Go Set a Watchman first, she published it over fifty years after she published To Kill a Mockingbird. Many readers of TKM refused to read Go Set a Watchman, as they were afraid of finding out how Atticus changes from the first book.
